RILEY, YOU BIG LUG A small shrine to the dumbest man on TV. This week: Everyone is discussing whether or not Riley could have been brainwashed by the Initiative. How hard could that be? We learn he's kept Buffy's ickle-wickle scarfy thing in his meaty big hand while he's been in hospital. Awww. Riley's version of "I think therefore I am": "I'm a soldier. Take that away and what's left?" What, indeed? When Riley's about to start arguing he makes himself look extra innocent. Buffy isn't fooled. Riley's mum took 12 years to spot it. We know where he got the brains from. He refers to Faith as a "Gal". Honestly. Finally, and immortally, he says, "I'm from Iowa, we drive four hours for a High School football game.

Faith: For those of you who've just joined us, Faith is a rogue slayer, who went very bad indeed, and got sliced and diced by Buffy in Graduation Day Part I.

The Mayor: The Mayor used to run Sunnydale and Faith before he turned into a giant snake and then got blown up. We first see him picnicking with Faith in her dream. Significantly, he's holding a small snake.

Faith wakes up: Doctor Who fans will find the footage of Faith wandering the hospital corridors eerily reminiscent of Paul McGann in Doctor Who - the TV Movie. Only she somehow fails to leave the hospital dressed as a Victorian gentleman. Pity.

The Mayor's message: Would have been made sometime during the events of Graduation Day II - after Faith was hospitalised, but before he went and turned into a snake.

The Milk Tray advert: For anyone who remembers these old Bond-influenced chocolate adverts, the musical sting before Buffy discovers the kebabed demon is instantly familiar.

Mystery phone call one: The nurse orders someone to "Send the team" using the internal phone. Who, we wonder?

Mystery phone call two: Who phones Buffy to tell her that Faith is awake? And why do they phone her at Giles's house?

Buffy runs after Faith: When it's not the stunt person, Sarah Michelle Gellar runs ... like she's trying to catch a bus. She's only prevented by that huge, fake-looking wall.

"Five by Five": is Faith's catchphrase There are loads of different interpretations - it's a poker term, it's a really simple sum, it's also US Army talk for a radio signal being loud and clear.

Xander: Obviously still thinks of himself as Faith's personal God of Love. Poor booby.

Buffy's mum: Joyce returns in this episode. Hurrah.
