The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth.
A small shrine to the nerdiest supervillans on TV. This week:
Geek’s Eleven: Andrew’s comment, "I still say we're gonna need at least eight other men to pull this off," refers to the movie Ocean's Eleven - i.e. the three geeks plus eight equals eleven.
Presumably he is referring to the 2001 remake with George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt rather than the 1960 'Ratpack' original, since Warren adds, "I never should have let you see that movie."
Here’s Johnny: Jonathon’s comment, "I'm going all Jack Torrence here, you know?" refers to the Stephen King novel The Shining.
In the book, Jack Torrence is the husband and father who takes a job as a caretaker in an isolated mountain hotel, goes a bit loopy and stalks his family with an axe.
The Shining was made into a film in 1980, directed by Stanley Kubrick and with Jack Nicholson playing Torrence.
A further nod to Nicholson comes from Willow, when she refers to Buffy's condition as, "Cuckoo's Nest". This relates to One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, a film about mental illness also starring Jack.
