This week: Geek’s Eleven: Andrew’s comment, "I still say we're gonna need at least eight other men to pull this off," refers to the movie Ocean's Eleven - i.e. the three geeks plus eight equals eleven. Presumably he is referring to the 2001 remake with George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt rather than the 1960 'Ratpack' original, since Warren adds, "I never should have let you see that movie." Here’s Johnny: Jonathon’s comment, "I'm going all Jack Torrence here, you know?" refers to the Stephen King novel The Shining. In the book, Jack Torrence is the husband and father who takes a job as a caretaker in an isolated mountain hotel, goes a bit loopy and stalks his family with an axe. The Shining was made into a film in 1980, directed by Stanley Kubrick and with Jack Nicholson playing Torrence. A further nod to Nicholson comes from Willow, when she refers to Buffy's condition as, "Cuckoo's Nest". This relates to One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, a film about mental illness also starring Jack.

Hats Entertainment: Normal Again features an impressive selection of headgear, most notably a monstrous red creation sported by Willow.

So the Net girl: Buffy asks Willow why she is all, "home, hearth, and DSL anyway?" DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is American terminology for broadband Internet.

Toon Time: Normal Again is writer Diego Guiterrez's first and only Buffy script.

Originally Joss Whedon's personal assistant, Diego also dubbed Giles' French dialogue for scenes in season four's Restless and has written episodes of Dawson's Creek.

Utter Madness: Buffy now claims that her parents put her into a clinic shortly after she discovered she was the Slayer.

Odd that Joyce never mentioned this in relation to Buffy's mysterious behaviour and collection of blood stains during the first couple of seasons of the show. The Buffy comic strip will explore the Slayer's first spell in therapy during 2003.

Young at Heart: When Buffy looks at the photo of herself as a child, it's Alexandra Lee, who also played young Buffy in season five's The Weight of the World.
