Dilemma: Stackers (Maxwell)

Can you help Maxwell solve his dilemma?

Joy! Bliss! Such happy news!

I haven’t been this excited since we got that new graph paper in the stationery cupboard.

I found out today that my hero and role model Ollie Coulton has volunteered for my little library club! To have such an experienced and skilled shelf stacker on my team is more than I could have hoped for. 😊

There’s just one slight problem.

Ollie is so grumpy! I can’t imagine what’s putting him in such a bad mood. ☹ I give him feedback on improving his dusting skills, and I’ve been very clear about what’s expected of him, but he just won’t cheer up!

What can I do? Obviously I want him on the team but I can’t have grumpy librarians. So… Project “Cheer Up Ollie” is on and I need your help!

Has this ever happened to any of you? What do you do to cheer your friends up? Why do you think Ollie is in such a bad mood?

Thanks to your ideas and suggestions, project “Cheer Up Ollie” was a massive success. I thought about trying NavyBlueBrightDeer's suggestion of giving him a bit more authority, or going the other way and trying FluffyBiscuitNarwhale's suggestion of being a bit stricter 😬 

But then I thought of something even better! I signed Ollie up to Gardening Duty!

I’m sure once Ollie gets out there in the fresh air he’ll perk up in no time.

I didn’t want Ollie to worry so I drafted Cassie in as his replacement. Everyone’s a winner!

Or so I thought.

Thing is, I’d sort of forgotten just how good Cassie is. She’s already dusted every single shelf, and completely re-catalogued the entire library- And it’s only her first day!

Now there’s nothing left for the rest of us to do. I know she didn’t mean to but she kind of spoiled the fun a bit. 😕

So I need your help one more time. What do you think I should do?

Should I sack Cassie and bring back Ollie? I don’t want to hurt Cassie’s feelings.

Is there some way I can slow Cassie down? Or was I better off with Ollie all along? 😱

Who do you think I should have with me in the library?

After listening to all your amazing suggestions and examining the vote results, it looked like you were all strongly for bringing Ollie back...

...But I had a better idea! I'm going to quit the library.

It’s the right thing to do.  Cassie is clearly the better librarian and I think I’ve found something I’d enjoy even more!

That’s right! I’m on my way to Gardening Duty! 🌷 🌿 😊

Ollie is going to be so happy! But not as happy as me. It’s like the dream team is back together! 🙌🏼
