How to make a basketball court
Watch the episode of Go Get Arty and check out the full tutorial for making your basketball court!
Note: An adult will need to supervise this craft! Please be careful with scissors.
Start with your cardboard box cut in half.
Cut from the bottom of your sliced half, diagonally all the way to the top opposite corner, to make the side of your court. Repeat this on the other side.
Cut out triangles from black paper that match the size of your cardboard cutouts, to make black walls. (You can make your walls any colour you like.)
Time to decorate! Use a sponge or paintbrush and white paint to create a fun brick effect along the black paper. You can use brown and yellow paint if you want a more realistic brick effect.
To make the floor of the court, take some paper (plain, or painted, whatever you like best!) and draw on your basketball court lines.
Glue the floor and sides to the cardboard.
To make the net, cut the bottom off a clear yoghurt pot, and draw net lines across the pot to make it ultra-realistic.
On the tall side of your cardboard basketball court, draw your backboard with a pen or paint!
Stick the hoop onto the backboard using double sided sticky tape or glue.
Decorate decorate decorate! What kind of style will you go for? Old school, K-Pop, disco? Anything works.
