Otis King's Patent Calculator

I bought this calculator in 1962 when I started an undergraduate course in Chemistry.

The helical scale around the cylinder form enabled calculations to be made with the same accuracy as would be possible with a very long slide rule.

It was a required tool for Science and Mathematics students in the early 1960s but was the last of its kind as it was rapidly rendered obsolete with the advent of pocket electronic calculators.
