The dummy Home Guard Rifle was issued to units of the new force to practice with until they could be issued with real armaments. It is the same weight and size as a real .303 Lee Enfield rifle, that the British infantry were issued with. By the time the real ones arrived, the Home Guard would be used to marching and standing guard with the dummies and make an easy transition. This rifle was used by the Home Guard in Denbigh.
