Trina McPeake, 34, school band director from Iowa

I travelled with a band taking part in the parade. We drove for 24 hours from Dubuque, Iowa, through an ice storm. There are 223 of us, we slept on a gym floor.

It's really exciting I'm going to see my friend in the parade. I'm taking video to show the kids.
