Defusing tensions Frankie Vaughan, the legendary singer, was involved with a youth project in Easterhouse in the late 1960s. He played a concert in Glasgow and was so appalled by violence levels that he appealed for people to surrender their weapons. Frankie's input had a noticeable effect: crime figures showed a clear fall in street violence at that time. |
