Perestroika has changed my life of course, but I don’t know whether it’s for better or worse. Perhaps, had it not happened, I would have been still teaching in the university and living a happy life.

Now we certainly have more freedom and opportunities. I think Gorbachev is a courageous man. Many people curse him, but he made a colossal breakthrough.
