Religion Religion has become the most important dividing line in American politics. Evangelical Christians are strongly Republican, while Jews, black Prostestants, Latino Catholics and the non-religious generally identify as Democrats. Catholics and mainline Protestants are more divided - and hence the battleground groups. |
