He calls Vietnam "past history" - and thinks it is "interesting that [John Kerry,] a person who spent 20 years in the Senate, would run on [his record] in Vietnam".
Mr Parr, president of the non-partisan Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 240, says he judges George W Bush by his record as president, not what he did 35 years ago.
