In pictures: Iraqi referendum
Iraqis are voting in a referendum on whether or not to give President Saddam Hussein another seven-year term.
The outcome is widely expected to be a landslide victory for Saddam - support he needs as the US threatens military action unless it is convinced Iraq is disarmed.
Some Saddam supporters voted yes in blood
The president's powerful cousin, Ali Hasan al-Majid, led the way
Children took part in rallies as voting continued
Even ballot boxes were adorned with pictures of Saddam Hussein
Women and men had to vote separately
Sweets and pastries are being handed out and correspondents report a holiday-like atmosphere
