Two held over cocaine seizure
Cardiff International Airport
The women were on a diverted flight
Two women have appeared in court after being found in possession of £250,000 worth of cocaine at Cardiff International Airport.

Customs Officers found five kilos of cocaine hidden in five hand cream bottles in the women's luggage.

The pair Sonia Stedman, 38 and Margaret Thomas, 50 both unemployed from London, appeared before Cardiff Magistrates Court charged with illegally importing a Class A drug.

The women were travelling from St Martin in the Caribbean, but had boarded the flight in Paris.

The Air France flight was destined for Bristol but was diverted to Cardiff.

The women were arrested on Friday and held overnight before appearing in court on Saturday.
