The jury in the Clydach murder trial has been told how a man accused of killing three generations of the same family bought drugs on the days leading up to the deaths.

Swansea Crown Court heard how David Morris, 40, purchased amphetamines on all three days before the murders.

Mr Morris, from Craig Cefn Parc in the Swansea Valley, denies killing Mandy Power, 34, along with her two daughters Katie, 10, and Emily, eight, as well as her invalid mother Doris Dawson, 80.

During the trial on Tuesday, witness Terrence Williams, 45, told the court that he had sold drugs to Mr Morris.

Mr Morris has been accused of killing all four family members after his sexual advances were allegedly spurned by Mrs Power.

The family were bludgeoned to death at their home in Kelvin Road in Clydach, near Swansea, three years ago in what the prosecution described as a "massacre".

Mr Williams told the court Mr Morris had never been to buy drugs at his home so regularly before.

He said Mr Morris had been introduced to him by a local man named Kevin Ring.

He added that he only sold amphetamines to friends who he knew already used the illicit drug.

Mr Williams told the court he would buy the drugs himself and sell them on to friends for between £5 and £10.

Mr Morris is alleged to have bought three separate £10 amounts on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the murders, which happened in the early hours of the Sunday morning.

On each occasion Mr Williams understood the amount to be for Mr Morris's personal use, the court heard.
