Rover to get traffic jam software
The company monitors 8,000 miles of UK roads
A Bedfordshire company which makes a computer system to help drivers avoid traffic jams has won a new contract with MG Rover.
Trafficmaster, which is based in Cranfield, will begin installing its equipment into 60,000 Rovers next year. The system uses sensors in the roads to monitor jams and then warn drivers of any traffic problems within a 20 mile radius by sending them a text message. The company has already arranged to install the system in some BMW and Citroen models. Trafficmaster also makes tracking software to secure cars against theft.
