Counterfeit clothing seizure 'biggest in NI'
Counterfeit designer and sports clothing believed to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds has been seized by the police in Northern Ireland.

It is thought the haul was the largest of its kind in Northern Ireland.

The fake brand name clothing was discovered on Thursday in the docks area of Belfast during planned searches at a warehouse in the Duncrue Industrial Estate.

Also found were bags of designer labels ready to be sewn into the clothes.

The goods were thought to have been destined for sale at open-air markets around Northern Ireland.

The police have been targeting the counterfeit goods trade and have made regular seizures at the markets.

Police said the seizure was a major blow to those involved in illegal trading.

A number of people were arrested and released pending further inquiries.
