Masters of Colour: Your views
L'Estaque, 1906, by Georges Braque, the Merzbacher Foundation
The exhibition illustrates how artists approach colour
A major exhibition of privately-owned works has opened at the Royal Academy, highlighting the use of colour in 20th Century art.

It contains key works from The Fauves and the German Expressionist movement, including paintings by Matisse, Derain, Kandinsky and Klee.

"Most of the works selected are gems, a compliment to the superb taste of the private collectors, Werner and Gabriella Merzbacher," says BBC News Online's Steve Schifferes.

But what do you think?

Is it an impressive collection or too much of a mishmash? Does it demonstrate the use of colour effectively? Is it a better London show than the Matisse-Picasso at Tate London

Have your say
