In Pictures: Queen's academy party
A host of celebrities joined the Queen at the Royal Academy of Arts to honour 50 years of the arts.
Luminaries from film, television, theatre, art, music and dance assembled for the gala event in London's Piccadilly. Here are scenes from the celebration.

More established performers were in abundance, including ballerina Darcey Bussell
The film and theatre talent on show included Charles Dance, Geraldine James and Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry

Furniture designer Viscount Linley and fashion designer Jasper Conran found they had something in common
The Attenboroughs represented film and broadcasting respectively
