Train hits shopping trolleys
Trains
The train was travelling from Cardiff to Portsmouth
Police are appealing for information after vandals forced a passenger train out of service in Wiltshire.

The train hit two shopping trolleys thrown onto the line near Trowbridge on New Year's Eve.

It is believed the trolleys were thrown off the footbridge running between Cherry Gardens and Dursley Road at Lower Studley some time between 2115 and 2245 GMT.

Police say the underside of the train was badly damaged and that the repair costs are likely to be substantial.
