Woman airlifted to hospital after crash

The woman was taken to hospital by air ambulance
A woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a road accident in Lancashire.

The woman was injured when a car crashed on the A682 in Gisburn at about 0820 GMT on Tuesday.

She was trapped in the wreckage for more than an hour-and-a-half while the fire service tried to free her.

She was freed from the wreckage at about 1000 GMT and taken to the Royal Preston Hospital in an air ambulance.
