Police appeal for crash witnesses

An ambulance crew tried to revive the elderly motorist
Police are appealing for witnesses of a crash in which an elderly woman motorist was killed and her passenger suffered serious injuries.

The pensioner's Volkswagen Golf collided with a Seat after she pulled out at a junction near Hook, Hampshire on Thursday afternoon.

Police closed three kilometres of the road for three hours while they searched for clues.

The crash happened at the junction of London Road and the Odiham bypass near Hook, Hampshire.


We would urge witnesses to contact police

Paramedics tried to revive the woman but she died at the scene from her injuries.

Her passenger was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The male driver of the other car suffered minor head injuries and was treated for shock at the scene.

A spokesman for Hampshire Police said: "This was a tragic accident.

"It happened as the Golf car pulled out from London Road at a T-junction with the Odiham bypass, near Hook.

"We would urge any witnesses to contact police."
