Lotto winner tagged again
Lottery winner Michael Carroll
Michael Carroll faces an overnight curfew
A young offender who won almost £10m on the National Lottery is to have his electronic tag reactivated.

Michael Carroll, 19, of Magdalen in Norfolk, was still wearing the tag - imposed for being drunk and disorderly - when he collected his winnings at the beginning of the month.

Last week, he persuaded a court to deactivate it for seven days and lift a curfew order, to allow him to escape media attention.

But on Tuesday evening, magistrates in King's Lynn said the restrictions should be reimposed and remain in place until December.

Carroll has vowed to go straight
Mr Carroll, who was not at Tuesday's court hearing, has admitted his past court appearances have been countless but has vowed to "go straight".

He and his pregnant partner Sandra Aikin plan to buy a house together.

He said: "I am not making excuses but I fell in with a bad crowd and life got pretty grim.

"That is all in the past and the Lotto has given me a great chance for a stable future."

Mr Carroll is now obliged to be at an address in King's Lynn between 1800 and 0500 GMT every day.
