Pedestrian dies in road accident

A pedestrian has died on Teesside after a collision with a car in Norton on Saturday evening.

The accident happened in Norton High Street at 1800 BST and involved a Vauxhall Frontera.

The 45-year-old pedestrian was taken to North Tees Hospital for treatment for severe head injuries.

However, the man who is from Norton but has not been named by police, died on Sunday night in hospital.

The motorist was not injured in the incident, which happened on Norton High Street.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to contact their motor patrols department.
