Climber's death witnessed by son
Snowdonia National Park
The man and his son had been climbing in Snowdonia
A man from Shropshire has been killed in a climbing accident in Snowdonia.

The 46-year-old, from Telford, was near the top of a 1,000 feet gully climb on 3,000 foot Carnedd Llewelyn when he slipped and fell.

His son, who is in his 20s, witnessed the incident on Wednesday and called for help on his mobile phone.

A member of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, who had been rock climbing in the area, also witnessed the fall and rushed to the scene to help.

North Wales Police co-ordinated the recovery operation and the man's body was brought down by the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team.
