A staff meeting will be held on Wednesday to discuss the future of the Hereford-based firm, which employs 850 people.

Last month, Bulmers admitted an overspend of £4m, prompting the resignation of the company's chief executive, Mike Hughes.

Earlier this week, Bulmers announced that its finance director, Alan Flockhart, would be leaving following an investigation and review of the company's accounts by auditors Deloitte & Touche.

Last year, more than 130 workers were made redundant as part of a cost-cutting exercise.

The latest round of jobs losses will come from all parts of the business but are believed to be centred mainly on non-production areas.

A spokesman for the company, which is the biggest employer in Hereford, said while it could not rule out further redundancies, they would have nothing to do with Bulmer's current financial problems.
