Stolen mobility scooter replaced
Beryl Allen on her new scooter
The new scooter came from an anonymous donor
An anonymous donor has replaced a woman's stolen mobility scooter.

Beryl Allen, 66, from Leicester, who has arthritis and osteoporosis, was left housebound by the theft.

The new vehicle, found burnt out in a park, was not insured.

Other scooters were also offered to Mrs Allen.
The scooter remains
The scooter was found in a nearby park

The original four-wheeled scooter was kept in the garden of Mrs Allen's home in the Goodwood area of Leicester.

But the vehicle was taken before the delivery of a shed intended to house it.

Two days later friends found it burnt out in a nearby park.

The new vehicle was donated by a widow who asked not to be named.

Mrs Allen said: "It's absolutely gorgeous. It's out of this world.

"I would like to say thank you to the woman and give her a big hug."

Three other scooters were offered and these will be donated to good causes.
