The company says the "unattractive" state of the station is turning away passengers.

Stagecoach has confirmed that from 2 September passengers travelling to and from Corby will be picked up and dropped off from bus stops in the town.

Company chairman, Inglis Lyon, said Stagecoach would continue to pay off the remainder of its 99-year lease on the bus station.

He said the town's bus shelters were more attractive.

Tops Estates, which owns Corby Town centre including the bus station, said it had not been told of Stagecoach's decision.

Notices are being put up on buses, shelters and in the station to notify passengers of the changes.
