Jobs saved at Ikea supplier
Workers at Beauvale Furnishings
The takeover will save hundreds of jobs
More than 800 jobs have been saved with the sale of a Derbyshire furnishing company.

All 900 jobs at Elkstone Holdings in Ilkeston were under threat after the manufacturer called in the administrators in May, 2002.

Now a new management team has taken over and work started on Friday.

There was concern the loss of the jobs at Ilkeston's main employer would devastate the local economy.

Center Parcs

Elkstone Holdings, made up of Tudor Textiles along with Manor House and Beauvale Furnishings, is the UK's largest manufacturer of caravan soft furnishings.

It makes furniture, beds, curtains and soft furnishings for caravans and supplies Ikea and Center Parcs.

The company, which has a £44m turnover, has been bought for an undisclosed sum.

The next few months will be spent consolidating the business under the new name of the Beauvale Group.
