Island houses are more affordable
Buying a house in Jersey is becoming more affordable, according to the most recent figures.

The House Price Index for the last quarter of 2005 showed the average price of a house is £335,000.

House prices have risen by 3%, but because the increase is less than the Retail Price Index and the rise in wages, homes become more affordable.

Peter Seymour, a mortgage broker, said there is increased confidence in the island's housing market.
