States home plan for first-timers
States-owned housing in Jersey could be sold off to help first-time buyers on the island.

The Housing Committee is to consider selling homes at prices lower than the market rate to help people get on the property ladder.

The President, Deputy Terry le Main, was responding to calls for the States to go into partnership with first-time buyers in shared equity schemes.

Deputy Le Main said proposals would go before the States in the near future.
