Officials to travel more cheaply
Plane taking off
Politicians should find the cheapest travel arrangements
Politicians and civil servants in Jersey are being advised to use the internet to make cheaper travel and flight arrangements.

The move comes as a result of Jersey States reviewing its travel expenses policy.

All government departments have been told to find the cheapest fares when business takes them outside the island.

Previously all government business was organised through a single agency that the States had a contract with.

States expenses are currently facing scrutiny.

Senator Dick Shenton wants them to be published every quarter, but the committee responsible does not believe the cost would be worth it.
