School could close warns deputy
A States deputy is warning that a Guernsey primary school could have to close in order to save money.

Deputy Rhodderick Matthews said that any decision could only happen after a suitable period of consultation.

He said he does not believe any school in particular should be targeted but with the changing population numbers it is a realistic option.

The States is committed to making savings on its education budget from 2008 onwards.
