Guernsey's Bailiff will officially open the airport terminal
Guernsey's new multi-million pound airport terminal will be officially opened on Thursday.

Several hundred people are expected to attend the invitation-only ceremony.

Bailiff Sir de Vic Carey has been chosen to officially open the terminal. In 1939, his grandfather - Bailiff at the time - opened the current terminal.

A number of VIP guests, as well as representatives from the UK travel industry, will be given a tour around the £19m building.

Island schoolchildren will also be playing a part in the event, with a representative from each parish school raising their parish flag.

The terminal will be fully operational from 19 April.
