Guernsey's lifeboat station is celebrating its bicentenary this weekend.
The station was established following a resolution by the States in 1803 following a number of shipwrecks around the island. The RNLI took over in 1826.
Jurat Len Moss, chairman of the Guernsey RNLI branch, said the island's lifeboat crew were "special people".
A number of events are taking place to celebrate, with ex- and current lifeboats from the UK, France and Alderney joining in.
