Choose the stories you want to debate
Your Choice is a News Online experiment that gave you the power to help us set the editorial agenda on our discussion area, Talking Point.

The pilot ran until Friday 29 November. News Online users chose to debate:

29 November: Euro XBox: Will you play online?
28 November: How can we protect PCs against computer viruses?
27 November: Hi tech workplaces: No better than factories?
26 November: Do you fear online fraud?
25 November: How would you improve your mobile phone?
22 November: Is the dotcom crash over?
21 November: Microsoft Windows' security issues
20 November: Should spam be banned?
19 November: Does broadband access matter to you?
18 November: Tighter rules on workplace snooping

This is how our pilot worked:

  • Every story on our Technology Front Page had this Vote button.

Users clicked on the button to vote for the stories they found controversial or in any way worthy of comment.

  • Votes were added and every day, at 1300 GMT we took the story with the highest number of votes and open a Talking Point debate about it.

Thanks to all our user who took part in this experiment.
