Specialist trusts: Star ratings
The Department of Health NHS performance data includes star ratings for 20 specialist trusts across England.
Specialist trusts act as centres of expertise for a particular type of care, unlike acute trusts, which provide a broad range of services. They also tend to serve a much wider population than acute trusts.
Three Star Trusts: Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust, London Nuffield Orthopaedic NHS Trust, Oxford Papworth Hospital NHS Trust Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Trust, Sussex Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and District Hospital NHS Trust, Shropshire Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Trust, London Two Star Trusts: Birmingham Women's Health Care NHS Trust Cardiothoracic Centre - Liverpool NHS Trust Christie Hospital NHS Trust, Manchester Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology NHS Trust Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, London Liverpool Womens Hospital NHS Trust Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust Royal Liverpool Childrens NHS Trust Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Trust, Bath Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, Birmingham Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS Trust Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery NHS Trust One Star Trusts: Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Trust Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, Middlesex
