Drivers checked in crime squeeze
More than 50,000 vehicles in Nottinghamshire have been checked in a clampdown on car-related crime.

Police handed out dozens of penalties to drivers for motoring offences. One person was arrested for driving while disqualified and possession of drugs.

Operation Spool was run by the DVLA, customs officers and Notts Police.

Almost 200 were pictured without a tax disc in the windscreen, with 69 cars clamped and seven vehicles were crushed after being caught.

Police say they are determined to get the message across that illegal driving will not be tolerated.
