More than 700 people have gathered at Ripon Cathedral for the funeral of the Bishop of Knaresborough.
Frank Weston, who was 67, died on 29 April in St James's Hospital in Leeds following a stroke.
The funeral service was led by the Bishop of Ripon and Leeds John Packer and was attended by Anglican bishops and clergy from across the UK.
In his sermon Canon James Bell said: "How readily Frank became a friend in the exercise of this ministry.
"It had something to do with an unassuming dignity, a genuineness blended with affection, a modesty flavoured with wit, warm humanity."
Among the congregation was the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, the High Sheriff, and the mayors of Leeds, Harrogate, Ripon, Boroughbridge and Knaresborough.
Bishop Frank's brother, Canon David Weston, read the New Testament lesson.
The Bishop, who lived in Roundhay, Leeds, was due to retire at the end of May.
