Members of the public are being urged not to buy cheap fireworks after more than £20,000 worth were stolen from DIY stores in St Albans, Herts.
Around a tonne of fireworks worth
£10,000 were taken from the Homebase store in Griffiths Way on 18 October.
Another £11,000 worth were stolen from Homebase in Alban Park, off Hatfield Road, between 18-19 October.
Insp Stephen Morrill said: "Most of them were packaged in Homebase boxes so they will be easily identifiable."
The offenders would have used a forklift truck to get to them as they were on pallets.
"If you saw either of the burglaries or saw anyone acting suspiciously around the time of these incident, please contact us," Mr Morrill added.
