Boxing club 'forced to move'
Hitchin Boxing Club
The club has used the Youth Trust gym since 1945
An amateur boxing club has been forced to leave the building it has occupied for over fifty years.

Hitchin Boxing Club in Hertfordshire had been involved in a long-running dispute with the owners of the site.

Hitchin Youth Trust wants to sell the site for development.

The threat of high legal costs has forced the club out but the trust has promised to rehouse them.

It has offered the club the use of a building of a similar size, which is also rent-free.

Hitchen Youth Trust estimates that sale of the site will raise £1.2m, which will be invested for youth programs.
