Shopkeeper dies after robbery
Beer cans
Three men stole cans of beer from the shop
A shopkeeper has died after masked raiders struck at his store in Nottingham.

It is believed Rachpal Takhar, 59, from Sherwood, suffered a heart attack.

Three men wearing balaclavas entered the off-licence and general store, on Haydn Road, shortly before 2100 GMT on Tuesday.

They grabbed cans of beer and fled after Mr Takhar shouted at them.

Heart medication

He was not hurt but his family say he was shaken by what happened.

A few hours later he died from a heart attack.

Mr Takhar's family said he had been on medication for heart problems for many years.

His daughter-in-law, Pam Takhar, says they would never know for sure if the theft led to his death

"It's just a shock... I don't know whether the robbery contributed."
