Dawn raids uncover drugs
Heroin
Police have been tipped off about drug dealing
Police have arrested five people during dawn drug raids in Lancashire.

Officers, observed by councillors and residents, searched six addresses in Fleetwood from 0700 GMT on Thursday.

They were working as part of Operation Nimrod, an ongoing initiative to target suspected drug dealers in the county.

Houses on Broomfield Road, Northway, London Street and North Albion, were raided.

The five arrested were due to be questioned later on Thursday.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Ashley told BBC Radio Lancashire the aim of the operation was to reassure local people.

He said: "[I want] to make it clear to the public that Lancashire Constabulary is serious about making communities safer."
