- 1991 appointed Palestinian delegation official spokeswoman at Middle East
Peace Conference, Madrid
- Becomes Minister in Arafat's first government in Palestine - resigns 1998
- 1998 heads Palestinian Independent Commission for Citizens' Rights
- 1999 Head of MIFTAH - the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion
of Global Dialogue and Democracy
