Describing yourself
To ask someone what they look like we say: Sut wyt ti'n edrych?
To reply we could say: | Dw i'n dal. | I'm tall. | | Dw i'n fyr. | I'm short. | | Dw i'n weddol fach. | I'm quite small. | | Dw i'n dew. | I'm fat. | | Dw i'n denau. | I'm thin. | | Dw i'n esgyrnog. | I'm skinny. | | Dw i'n gyhyrog. | I'm muscular. | | Wyt ti'n dal? | Are you tall? | | Wyt ti'n denau? | Are you thin? | | Ydw, dw i'n dal. | Yes, I'm tall. | | Nac ydw, dw i ddim yn dal. | No, I'm not tall. | | Ydw, dw i'n denau. | Yes, I'm thin | | Nac ydw, dw i ddim yn denau. | No, I'm not thin. | Remember the conjugation of the verb BOD - to be. It is essential in order to describe other people:| Dw i'n fach. | I'm small. | | Rwyt ti'n fyr. | You're short. | | Mae e'n denau. | He's thin. | | Mae hi'n dew. | She's fat. | | Dyn ni'n dal. | We're tall. | | Dych chi'n gyhyrog. | You're muscular (pl. or formal). | | Maen nhw'n weddol dal. | They're quite tall. |
