Asking a question

Here we will learn to ask a question in the past tense. You do this by dropping the mi.With most verbs all you have to do is change the tone of your voice to a questioning one.

  • Remember that 'chi' is the polite form, and 'ti' is informal.
    • Mi wnest ti seiclo i'r ysgol.You cycled to school.
    Wnest ti seiclo i'r ysgol?Did you cycle to school?
    Mi wnaethoch chi nofio ddoe.You swam yesterday.
    Wnaethoch chi nofio ddoe?Did you swim yesterday?
    Mi wnest ti dacluso'r stafell.You tidied your room up.

    Mi wnest ti ganu yn y gyngerdd.You sang in the concert.
