FAQ

5. How do I know which universities are the best for my chosen subject(s)?

Some newspapers produce league tables of universities which can lead people into believing that some institutions are better than others.

However, it is difficult to know what these league tables are based on and one newspaper may say something very different to another. There is no such thing as "best universities".

You must look very closely at similar-sounding courses at different universities because they will no doubt vary enormously in terms of content and delivery.

It is also important that you think about the type of place you would be happy to live in, e.g. big city, campus environment, distance from home.

It is a common misconception that all employers have certain universities that they prefer, when, in fact, they are most interested in the qualification an individual has gained, regardless of where they have obtained it.
