Where Are They now?

The band were recently reunited at the "It's The No.1 Party" programme.
What was it like to get back together?

Cheryl: Well, I still see the boys, especially Mike so it wasn't a big reunion or anything.  Mike and I have remained close friends since the first time we met.  You know when you meet someone and you just 'click'?  Well, that's how it was with Michael.  I love him to death and would do anything for him.  Bobby and I had a good working relationship but did not keep in touch after I left, simply because we weren't best buddies.  There was no animosity (well, there was for a short while but that's past).  When I was recently appearing in a play near to where Bob lives, he and his wife came to see me.  We have been talking recently about a short Bucks Fizz tour perhaps late this year or early next.

Did you speak to Jay?
Cheryl: No. Mike, Bobby and I were all sitting together.  Jay was sat on the opposite side of the studio.  I presume someone must have requested that, but it wasn't me.  I don't really know what I would have said to Jay had I met her.  We haven't spoken since she left the group in 1985.  We were never friends; Jay and I were from different planets. When she was replaced by Shelley it was lovely for me because I had a girlfriend in the group at last.

What are you up to these days?
Cheryl: I've just done an ad promoting Comic Relief. It will be transmitted from 24th February.  I am also doing another play called 'Anybody For Murder?' with Frazer Hines and Ross Davidson. We open in Poole on 18th February.

Do you ever watch TOTP2? What music are you into right now?.
Cheryl: I always watch TOTP2 and so do my eight-year-old twins.  They love the way artists used to dress then; much more extrovert with heavy make-up - and that's just the boys.  My personal taste in music is varied.  My most recent CDs are Ms. Dynamite and Rod Stewart!.
