Young people at Unity

Is a bleak destiny inevitable for the youth of Stoke?

By John James Anisiobi
When national statistics dictate that 40% of adults have no academic qualifications, what aspirations can the youth have? Unity is an organisation who aims to improve the prospects of tomorrow’s adults ... today!

Unity is a non profit making organisation set up by creative individuals in Stoke on Trent who wanted to use their skills and experiences to help the young people of the community.

They give opportunities to the youth and empower them to a better way of life using musical creativity and sport. There is no other provision in Stoke on Trent like Unity, yet there are many young people who have talent that can be encouraged and supported.

Unity can make a real difference to the young people who struggle to achieve in Stoke on Trent by helping them realize their full potential. Their vision is that young people in Stoke on Trent have better opportunities while also learning and participating in creative projects.

Improving community cohesion, breaking down barriers between cultures and reducing the risk of anti social behaviour are just some of the objectives comprised in Unity.
