Stafford Music Scene

The Stafford Music Scene - the party ain’t over yet!

By Steve Wood
From dirty back street pubs of yesterday to, well, dirty back street pubs of today. What does the Stafford Music Scene need to survive and keep on rocking for many years to come?!

You would think that Stafford's scene would have changed dramatically ... but it hasn't. Obviously the bands have changed and different genres have come and gone but the musicians themselves haven't. They're still as hard rocking and hard working as ever!

When I met up with Jim from Red Spot Productions in a Stafford car park, the once home to the UB pub which was the main beat of the music scene, he told me all about the changes he's seen in the Stafford Music Scene. Bands from the classic era of the 70’s such as the Climax Blues Band to new, young and exciting bands of today such as Hips like Cinderella, Mauskramp, Regards and Smokey Hill Gentlemen, have all added to the unique sound of Stafford.

Although the Stafford's music scene is going from strength to strength, it still needs something to take it that one step ahead of other towns and cities to attract more attention and make people notice what Stafford has to offer. And Jim thinks he might have the answer ...
