Guernsey's Heather Watson crashed out of the Jersey's Aegon Pro-Series event at Les Ormes on Thursday.
The 16-year-old was no match for third seed Katie O'Brien in the second round, losing in straight sets 6-1 6-1.
Beverley 22-year-old O'Brien, the world number 135, showed her experience and class, never letting her teenage opponent into the match.
Watson said: "Each match I'm learning something new and I'll leave this one with stuff I have to work on."
"I'll go and work on them and come back stronger."

Watson was never in the match, dropping her serve in the first game of the match and she never quite recovered.
"Katie's a very strong player with a lot of experience and she pushed me off the court today and I couldn't get back into it," she said.
Watson also lost her second round women's doubles match.
With partner Naomi Broady, the pair were 4-3 up in the first set against second seeds Monique Adamczak and Sarah Borwell, but went on to lose 6-4 6-1.
Despite losing Watson says she enjoyed playing in Jersey.
"Everyone here has been great and I'm really looking forward to coming back next year."
